Sleep is Important!

A good night’s sleep is critical to new learning and retention.  Today sleep seems to be last on many people’s minds, but when we are dealing with the developing brain, sleep is critical.
Lack of quality sleep causes impaired:
  • memory
  • concentration
  • focus
  • patience

Most kids need around 10 hours of sleep.

One hint to help your child get a good night’s sleep is to keep electronics out of your child’s bedroom at night. (The lights on T.V. and computer screens interfere with quality sleep – I actually check e-mail on my computer in the morning to help me wake up.)
